With the Haryana civil aviation department installing a state-of-the-art flying simulator at Karnal aerodrome, maiden facility in north India, Karnal is set to become a hub of modern flying lessons.
A flight simulator is an artificial recreation of an aircraft with various aspects of the flight environment. Trainee pilots are imparted lessons for sharpening their skills in flying, handling and maintaining aircraft, while on the ground.
Karnal is the regional centre of Haryana Institute of Civil Aviation (HIC A), which has centers at Pinjore and Hisar as well.
Institute executive director Capt. Kamal Kishore , while talking to HT on Monday , said that the department had purchased a modern multi-engine simulator from Switzerland , which would take about a month’s time to instal l at Karnal.
