India's Abhinav Bindra won a gold in men's 10-metre Air Rifle event in Beijing. Bindra shot 104.5 to take his total to 700.5 in the final. This is India's first ever Olympic gold in any individual event and ninth in total.(NDTV.com)

It is wonderful that finally we have an individual gold medal in India. Let us hope that this is the beginning of a new trend that will develop and become stronger in the years to come.
